Shri Pundkar’s life story is a powerful testament to the power of determination. Hailing from an extremely poor economic and educational background, he did not inherit privilege; he built his own legacy through untiring effort and an unwavering vision for empowering others through education. This personal journey from adversity to eminent leadership was the very bedrock upon which he built his institutions. He was not just an administrator; he was living proof that any barrier could be overcome with resolve, a lesson that became the silent ethos of the college.

His strength was not confined to a single institution. As the President of the Panchasheel Teachers Education Society, Akola, and a Director of the Maharashtra Vidya Prasarak Mandal, Khamgaon, he was instrumental in bringing quality education to the grassroots, running numerous schools and colleges in rural and tribal areas. This demonstrated a profound commitment to societal transformation, proving that his vision for education was both deep and wide.

His intellectual rigour and academic acumen were recognized at the highest levels, as evidenced by his pivotal role as the Chairman of the Board of Studies (Physics) and a Member of the Academic Council at Amravati University. This academic leadership ensured that the institutions he nurtured were always aligned with excellence and scholarly integrity. Furthermore, his honour as a Life Member of the prestigious Shri Shivaji Education Society, one of the largest in Asia, placed him amongst the foremost educationists of the region.

Shri Haribhau S. Pundkar was more than a founder; he was the pillar of strength for SWS Law College. His life, his struggles, and his monumental achievements provided an unshakeable foundation of values, resilience, and purpose. His legacy is not just in the structures he built, but in the enduring spirit of possibility and strength that continues to inspire every student and educator who walks through these halls. He was, and will always remain, the indomitable strength of this institution.
